Palo Santo or "Holy Wood" when translated from Spanish, is a wild tree native from the Yucatán Peninsula to Peru and Venezuela. It grows in dry tropical forests and produces a fragrant resin.
Palo Santo has been used by indigenous people for centuries for various medicinal purposes, utilising the wood, resin and oil.
The sticks here are recommended for space cleansing, utilising it similarly to incense.
To cleanse a space:
-Light a wand with a candle or lighter.
-Hold the wand downward at a 45-degree angle.
-Let the wand burn for 30 seconds.
-Douse the flame.
-Starting on the right side of the door, follow the wall, paying attention to the corners of
the room, until you reach your starting point.
-Let rest in a heatproof dish. Tip - carry the dish with you to catch any fall-out.
-Windows and doors are to be open, so smoke can carry away the negative energy.
